The Pre-Optometry Pathway, taken in conjunction with a major area of study at Carroll College, will prepare students to enter careers that specialize in comprehensive primary eye care. Students will take courses from a variety of subjects that will encourage them to become critical thinkers, compassionate healthcare professionals, and advocates for healthy living.

Pre-Optometry at Carroll College

Admission requirements for doctor of optometry programs vary from program to program and students should check individual web sites for specific information. General requirements include calculus, statistics, organic chemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology and psychology. 

Carroll students often major in either biology or chemistry since many of the course requirements coincide with these majors; however, a science degree is not required.
