Carroll College is pleased to announce two new appointments that deepen our commitment to mission-centered education and community-engaged learning. Dr. Katherine Greiner has been named Interim Dean of Mission for Faculty and Academics, and Dr. Cameron Ferguson will serve as Service-Learning Program Coordinator. These roles represent key priorities identified in the Strategic Plan and further strengthen Carroll’s identity as a Catholic, diocesan, liberal arts college guided by principles from the Second Vatican Council.
Dr. Katherine Greiner — Interim Dean of Mission for Faculty and Academics

A Carroll alumna and respected faculty member in Theology, Dr. Katherine Greiner brings both academic expertise and heartfelt dedication to this newly established, part-time interim role. As Interim Dean of Mission for Faculty and Academics, she will lead campus-wide engagement with Carroll’s Catholic identity and mission by supporting faculty, orienting new community members, and creating opportunities for shared reflection and growth.
Her work will center on Carroll’s Mission-Centered Values, including:
- Seeking truth in all intellectual pursuits,
- Cultivating ongoing curiosity and authentic dialogue,
- Engaging many perspectives with empathy and generosity,
- Working together for the greater good of our communities,
- Exploring ethical questions that bring purpose to education.
Dr. Greiner will facilitate mission-informed high-impact practices, support faculty in their integration of faith and reason, and sponsor academic programming that reinforces our shared commitment to vocation, justice, compassion, and the common good.
Dr. Cameron Ferguson — Service-Learning Program Coordinator

A champion of experiential learning and community partnerships, Dr. Cameron Ferguson has been appointed as Carroll’s new Service-Learning Program Coordinator. This part-time, two-year role will help embed meaningful service into academic courses, connect students with local organizations, and support the Sed Vitae Core Curriculum, which integrates learning with real-world experience.
This work aligns with Carroll’s Laudato Si’ initiative, our response to Pope Francis’s call to care for our common home through the Common Ground program, and supports our mission to form students as servant leaders grounded in ethical engagement.
Through his leadership, Dr. Ferguson will:
- Develop and support service-learning courses across disciplines,
- Foster partnerships with community organizations,
- Enhance student formation through purposeful, mission-aligned service,
- Reestablish service-learning as a signature element of a Carroll education.
With a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christianity, extensive experience in student life and teaching, and a strong commitment to formation, Dr. Ferguson is well-equipped to build a vibrant, sustainable program that prepares students to serve with humility and empathy.
We are grateful to Dr. Greiner and Dr. Ferguson for their service to Carroll College. Their leadership will further our mission to educate students in mind, body, and spirit while preparing them to live lives of meaning, purpose, and service.
