Seminar for Faculty: Why Muslims, Christian, and Jews Worship the Same God

Carroll College welcomes Dr. Francis Beckwith for a three-day residency as the inaugural speaker in the Fr. Thomas R. Flynn Lecture in Philosophy series. Funded through Fr. Flynn’s endowment to the Philosophy Department, the annual series explores the relationship between philosophy and faith in keeping with Carroll’s mission of integrating faith and reason.

The educational objective of this residency is to foster thoughtful discussion about religious belief in contemporary society and American public life, with particular attention to current national conversations about faith, politics, and religious difference.

Dr. Beckwith is an American philosopher and professor of philosophy and church-state studies at Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. He is also the associate director of the J. M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies.
