Description: Carroll College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Anthrozoology.  The position is responsible for teaching classes in Canine Science and Canine Training and mentoring undergraduate students in the broader field of Anthrozoology.  As part of this work, the faculty member will help to provide students with opportunities to learn how to train dogs for a range of work including, but not limited to, therapy, service, or scent detection. This facet of the teaching and research requires maintaining a close relationship with animal shelters around the state and identifying appropriate dogs and/or cats for students to foster for an academic year.  In the context of Carroll’s mission-based focused on blending the liberal arts with strong pre-professional programs, this position requires the development of an active and vibrant canine-research program, with a focus on topics such as canine cognition, behavior, genetics, welfare, and/or any other canine topic of value to students and society.

In addition, this position will have the responsibilities of academic advising and mentoring of students, faculty committee work, supervision of undergraduate student research projects and community service.

Qualifications:   The successful candidate will have a PhD in Anthrozoology, Animal Studies or related field (candidates from the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences will be considered), or JD with Animal Law experience, or DVM with expertise in the areas required. Must have a documented record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.  Candidate’s primary academic focus should be canine science, canine behavior, and canine training, with an emphasis on learning theory.  Must have a minimum of three years of professional or competitive canine training work such as service dog training, animal-assisted interventions, search and rescue other scent work, or competition in obedience, agility, and so forth. Candidate must have a proven record of research, quantitative or qualitative, preferably with dogs, but published work demonstrating the ability to design and conduct research with other animals (especially felines) will be considered.  An additional area of expertise is highly preferred, such as (but not limited to) animal law, geography, history, public policy, animal sheltering, zoos, wildlife, children, disability studies, literature.

Description: Carroll College invites applications for a 1-year visiting professor position in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences to begin in August 2024.  The successful candidate would be encouraged to apply for the tenure-track position to being August 2025.  We seek a broadly trained biologist with a strong commitment to teaching at a predominantly undergraduate institution. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position are Intro to Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2 (BI 201 and 202). Other teaching responsibilities may also include courses in the introductory sequence, upper division courses in area of specialty, or writing-intensive research courses in area of specialty. 

Qualifications:   The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. or will be ABD in Biology or a related field, will have a demonstrated ability to teach A&P, will be open to using a variety of high impact teaching practices and will be committed to fostering an educational environment committed to equity and inclusion.

Description: Carroll College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our Nursing Baccalaureate program with both a long-standing traditional pathway and a new Accelerated Nursing pathway. The position would start this upcoming Summer 2024. 

The Department of Nursing is seeking a colleague who possesses exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), is committed to academic excellence, enthusiastic about student interactions, and who supports the mission of the college.

Primary responsibilities of the selected faculty candidate include classroom and lab or clinical teaching, student advising, curriculum development and outcomes evaluation.

Qualifications:   The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Nursing as well as an unencumbered Montana Registered Nurse license. We are seeking a colleague who has broad expertise in nursing for both the traditional and the accelerated program. Previous teaching experience desired, but not mandatory.

Ability to teach Russian History an advantage.

Staff Positions

Description: Carroll College is seeking an Admissions Counselor to assist with driving recruitment efforts. This position serves an integral role in the recruitment and retention of prospective undergraduate students. Specific duties/responsibilities include working with potential candidates in a specified territory, interviewing candidates and conducting appropriate follow-up and tracking. The astute Admissions Counselor will also assist enrollment management with developing communication and building relationships with key influencers which lead to increased visibility for Carroll College. Admissions Counselors are required to initiate outreach to all prospects and their families as well as conduct transcript evaluations to determine eligibility for enrollment.

Like all Carroll employees, Admissions Counselors are expected to represent the college and maintain positive public relations when attending recruitment events, college fairs, and other community events.  Admissions Counselors must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to deliver world-class customer service with a positive attitude. 

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in related field and 1 year of clerical or office experience.  Prior experience in admission, orientation, student affairs, public relations or sales preferred.

Description: Carroll College is seeking an Admissions Data Specialist to assist the enrollment team with its data management efforts. This position will provide collaborative support to the Admission and Enrollment operations by reporting data and assisting in managing the Slate CRM system for the college.  This position will verify data accuracy and validity of records of student inquires and applications, be responsible for maintaining accurate system integration through data audits and report reviews, supports the successful enrollment of students by timely and accurate review and management of their application materials across data system.  This position will assist with providing operational and analytic reports to key stakeholders. This position will also work closely with the college IT Office and with external vendors. 

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have at least an Associate’s Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and/or 2 years’ related experience. An advanced knowledge of MS Office productivity software including Excel and Access is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment while also but also working independently for extended periods of time is also required.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Communication, Business or related field, and 2 years’ related experience.  Bachelor’s Degree and/or two years of alumni engagement experience preferred.

Description: Carroll College is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of IT Support Specialist.  This person will serve in the Campus Computing and Information Technology department to provide campus-wide technology support to end-users.  The IT Business Analyst will work with users in various departments across Carroll College’s campus to identify change needs, assess the impact of the change, capture and document requirements, and then ensure those requirements are delivered, all while supporting the Campus through the implementation process.

Project Management 

  • Create, maintain and prioritize a list of defined implementation and/or optimization projects.
  • Develop and maintain reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with department leads on roadmap planning and prioritization.
  • Oversee implementation projects from beginning to completion.
  • Work with IT System staff to define software update implementation plans and oversee departmental testing, to ensure timely installation of required software upgrades.

Process Review and Optimization

  • Improve training and operational procedures within a business to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends.
  • Work directly with staff to understand the individual needs of the departments.
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.

User/Department Focused Training

  • Have focused training sessions with users and/or departments to better drive adoption and standard practices.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have a 4-year college degree in IT or Business field preferred. Relevant experience considered.  A minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager.  Must have extensive knowledge of ERP and WMS system concepts.  SQL or Business Intelligence (BI) experience preferred.

  • Technologically adept and able to utilize basic office systems (such as Microsoft Office Suite, Power Point, Google Workspace, a Board Portal, and Gmail).
  • Excellent grammar and writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and schedule a complex calendar, book travel arrangements, and staff meetings.
  • Ability to represent and/or speak on behalf of the President to visiting admissions prospective student groups.
  • Be the “director of first impressions” for all visitors to the President’s Office.
  • Commitment to the educational mission of Carroll College as a Diocesan Catholic College.
  • Higher education experience, working in collaboration with senior leadership, highly preferred.
  • Understanding of governing boards, especially the structure and function of nonprofit and/or education boards.
  • Work with the President to create and manage an annual President’s Office budget.

Qualifications:   The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience or training, plus 2 years’ experience in clerical/administrative support or related field.

The IT Administrator supports and maintains Carroll College’s IT Infrastructure (IM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Patch Management (PM), Endpoint management (EPM), Mobile Device Management (MDM), and Enterprise Telephony Systems. Participates in supporting, maintaining, and diagnosing applications provided by Carroll College or any of its vendors in service of the campus’s daily operations. This position will interact with other IT staff, faculty, operational staff, and student’s campus-wide to assist in troubleshooting complex issues and provide effective solutions that adhere to Carroll College standards. Individual may perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:   The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 to 5 years of related experience in Network Administration and associated network hardware, software and infrastructure.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Servers, Linux servers, and ability to interpret and apply industry best practices including network monitoring, network management, and network security preferred.
