In addition to developing fluency in medical Spanish, students build cultural literacy, creative and analytical thinking, empathy, and active listening—core competencies for effective, compassionate care. They also learn to be resilient and flexible by navigating emotionally challenging clinical scenarios, language barriers, and health disparities with professionalism and purpose. The Carroll College Nursing and Spanish program allows students to participate in real-world engagement through immersion experiences or internships, where students must adapt their communication strategies, respond to unexpected clinical demands, and work effectively across cultures and disciplines.
