Carroll Theatre Presents The Little Mermaid
HELENA – Carroll College Theatre is producing Disney’s The Little Mermaid, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright. This production is based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film. This show will run April 20-29, in the FLEX Theatre in the lower level of the Carroll College Campus Center.
The stage musical version of the 1989 animated classic runs just under two hours long with all of the songs you will remember from the film such as Kiss The Girl, Under the Sea, and Part of Your World. There are many new songs audiences will fall instantly in love with, such as Scuttle’s own tap number Positoovity. The show fits well in Carroll theatre’s theme for the season “We Are One,” reminding us that even those who seem quite foreign have more in common with us. The Little Mermaid encourages us to question our pre-conceived notions about those from other worlds. We might just find our destiny by making the “other” our family.
