About

I graduated from Carroll in May 2020 with a major in public health and a minor in English/writing. Since graduating, I have been working as a Health Education Specialist for Public Health – Idaho North Central District in Lewiston, Idaho. Currently, I work on the tobacco prevention and cessation, comprehensive cancer control, and chronic disease prevention subgrants.

My time at Carroll prepared me for this next step by giving me hands-on experience with public health practices. The research projects and presentations I completed throughout my public health courses gave me a foundational knowledge of public health principles that have translated into my current position. All of my professors within the Health Sciences Department created opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. I believe that these experiences are what prepared me the most for beginning a career in public health.

I am so grateful for my time at Carroll and all of the relationships and experiences I gained through the Health Sciences Department.
