This accomplished nursing professional holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Aspen University with a specialization in public health nursing. Jen's graduate project centered on the prevention of congenital syphilis in at-risk populations in Montana, with a focus on equipping clinicians with the resources and evidence-based practices necessary for effective intervention. Additional graduate-level credentials Jen has earned include a certificate of public health from the University of Montana. She came to nursing as a second profession after earning a BS in Chemistry at Dickinson State University and working as an analytical chemist.
With eight years of experience serving at both local and state public health agencies, Jen has developed expertise in communicable disease prevention and emergency response, addressing complex health challenges such as tuberculosis, rabies, vaccine-preventable diseases, transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, and a variety of public health emergencies including oil spills, contaminated water sources, small and large disease outbreaks, and hazardous materials incidents.
Most recently, Jen provided regional leadership across a tri-state area, supporting 46 primary care clinics in the implementation of phone triage and transitional care management protocols. Jen is board-certified in care management.
