Student Demographics

At Carroll College, we welcome all who come of good will, embracing each student as a valued member of our academic community. Our mission calls us to prepare graduates for lives of leadership and service, and that mission is enriched when we bring together students with a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. This page presents an overview of our student body—by characteristics such as race/ethnicity and gender—alongside equivalent information from our peer institutions.

This data offer insight into who chooses Carroll and how our student population compares to similar colleges in Montana, the region, and the nation. While numbers can never fully capture the richness of our community life, they provide a useful lens for understanding trends in enrollment and representation over time. Just as important, they help us assess how well we are living out our commitment to build a welcoming campus environment where every student can learn, grow, and flourish.

In our classrooms, residence halls, and shared spaces, students encounter an atmosphere of mutual respect and genuine care. Faculty and staff know students by name, engage them in meaningful dialogue, and encourage them to bring their whole selves into the learning experience. In this way, the composition of our student body is more than a statistic—it is the foundation of a living, dynamic community where intellectual curiosity, spiritual growth, and personal transformation are nurtured every day.

By presenting Carroll’s demographic information in parallel with that of our peers, we honor NWCCU Standards 1.D.2 and 5.1, which call for institutions to use disaggregated and comparative data to assess mission fulfillment. And we do so in a way that reflects who we are: a Catholic liberal arts college committed to welcoming all, fostering belonging, and preparing students to engage the world with knowledge, compassion, and purpose.
