Application for Exception to the Campus Housing and Meal Plan Form
All full-time Carroll College students are required to live on campus for three years with the exception of:
- Students that are at least 21 by the first day of the Fall Semester, as determined by the Academic Calendar (merit will be reduced);
- Married students and/or students with dependent children living with them (as determined by FAFSA; merit will not be reduced);
- Students for whom living on campus represents an extreme financial hardship, as evidenced from the student FAFSA (merit will be reduced);
- A medical condition that Carroll College is not able to accommodate reasonably evidenced by the medical case file and a letter from a physician and affirmed by the Accessibility Services Coordinator (merit will not be reduced);
- Students from the Helena area residing with their parents or legal guardian (30-mile radius determined by zip code) who graduated from Helena-area high schools. Students who are granted this exception must still purchase a commuter-level meal plan. Merit will not be reduced; however, original need-based aid may be reduced based on lower Cost of Attendance.
Students seeking an exception to this requirement must submit an application annually.
