Hannah Hemphill joined Carroll College as an Assistant Professor of Catholic Studies in the Fall of 2020. She received a Ph.D. in Theology with a dissertation on Saint Thomas Aquinas’s understanding of sacrifice (Notre Dame, 2019). She holds master’s degrees in Philosophy (St. Andrews, 2003), Theology (Notre Dame, 2005), and Jewish Studies (Oxford, 2008). Her research interests include the thought of Thomas Aquinas, medieval theology and biblical exegesis, theories of redemption and atonement, the history of Jewish-Catholic relations and dialogue, and the Holy Land.
