A Message from President Jennifer Glowienka
Dear Carroll Community,
One of my favorite times of year is here as campus readies itself for the new academic year ahead! Nearly 350 students have already arrived early, our athletic teams are back in action, and there is a growing sense of excitement as we prepare to welcome everyone back and begin classes on August 26.
Across campus, projects large and small have been underway this summer to improve our facilities, enhance safety, and make our spaces more welcoming and functional. One of the most visible changes is our campus lighting project, which is nearing completion. More than 80 new and upgraded lights are improving parking lots, walkways, building entrances, and other areas across campus.
Our Campus Surveillance Enhancement Project has also made tremendous progress. Nine buildings are now fully equipped, with additional installations underway in Simperman-Fortin and Guadalupe Hall. Together, these lighting and security improvements represent an important investment in the safety and well-being of everyone who lives, works, and visits here.
We are especially grateful to the Simperman-Corette Foundation, whose $1.1 million gift in support of enhanced campus safety has made much of this work possible. Their continued generosity is making a meaningful and visible difference across Carroll.
There is plenty more happening, from renovations in Simperman and St. Charles in preparation for our developing Physician Assistant program to a new home for Admission in O’Connell Hall and a beautiful new garden beside the Campus Center patio featuring one of the original St. Charles cornerstones. We look forward to sharing more about these projects in the weeks ahead.
As we look forward to the start of the year, we are also mindful of the devastating wildfires affecting Washington, Montana, and other parts of the West. Many in our Carroll family have loved ones, friends, and hometowns in areas that have been impacted. We continue to hold our students, alumni, families, and all those affected in our prayers, especially the firefighters and first responders working to protect lives and homes.
After a busy summer of preparation, the best part is about to begin: having our students back and beginning a new academic year together. I cannot wait for the year ahead.
Welcome back, Saints!
With gratitude,
Jennifer Glowienka, Ph.D.
