A Message from our President, Dr. Jennifer Glowienka
The announcement of the University of Providence's closure at the conclusion of this academic year is deeply saddening for its students, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors, and all those whose lives have been touched by the institution.
For generations, the University of Providence has served its students and community through its commitment to education, faith, and service. We recognize that this moment carries profound personal significance for many people and families across Montana and beyond.
As a fellow Catholic college in Montana, we feel this loss particularly deeply. For many years, our institutions have shared a commitment to Catholic higher education in Montana, and we have long regarded the University of Providence community as colleagues and partners in that work. Catholic colleges and universities are places of learning, but they are also communities of faith and formation that help students discover their vocations, develop their gifts, and prepare for lives of service and leadership. The University of Providence has made lasting contributions to that mission, and its legacy will endure through the thousands of graduates and community members whose lives have been shaped by the institution.
During this difficult time, our prayers are with everyone affected by this announcement. We are especially mindful of students and families facing uncertainty about what comes next, and we stand ready to offer support wherever possible.
We give thanks for the generations of educators, staff members, religious leaders, alumni, and supporters whose dedication built and sustained this important institution.
