While summer may bring a quieter pace to campus life, it’s anything but slow for Carroll College’s dedicated facilities team. Under the leadership of Dan Byrd, our Facilities Director, and in partnership with trusted contractors, Carroll has taken full advantage of the summer months to tackle some significant infrastructure upgrades across campus. These projects not only enhance campus safety and functionality but also reflect our continued investment in the student experience and campus community.
Biskupiak Maintenance Building: Building for the Future
One of the most exciting developments is the launch of construction on the new Biskupiak Maintenance Building. This long-anticipated project is more than just a building, it’s an essential investment in the heart of campus operations. The new facility will provide expanded space and modern infrastructure to support the essential work of our facilities and maintenance teams. Once complete, it will greatly enhance Carroll’s capacity to care for our beautiful 63-acre campus year-round.
Guadalupe Hall: Fire Safety and Fresh Floors
Over in Guadalupe Hall, crews have been hard at work installing a comprehensive fire suppression system throughout the entire building, along with a brand-new fire alarm system, a major upgrade for the safety and security of all future residents. To top it off, the hallway carpets have been completely replaced, giving the building a refreshed and welcoming look for students returning in the fall.
St. Charles Hall: Comfort and Light
In St. Charles, one of Carroll’s most iconic buildings, two important upgrades are making a big impact. The 4th Main Restroom has been fully remodeled, offering improved comfort, cleanliness, and accessibility. In addition, new exterior lighting has been installed from St. Charles around to the front of Simperman Hall, illuminating key walkways and enhancing safety during the evening hours. Whether you're heading to a night class or enjoying a peaceful campus stroll, this luminous upgrade adds both beauty and peace of mind.
Gratitude for Our Facilities Team
None of this progress would be possible without the exceptional work of our Facilities team, led by Dan Byrd, and the incredible dedication of our construction partners. Their expertise, coordination, and long summer hours ensure these critical projects are completed in time for students' return.
As we prepare to welcome new and returning Saints to campus, we’re grateful for the behind-the-scenes efforts that help keep Carroll safe, beautiful, and ever-improving.
