Six Carroll Students Inducted into International Sociology Honor Society

Sociology Honor Society 2026

Carroll College’s Sociology Program recently celebrated the induction of six students into Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the international sociology honor society.

Founded in 1920, Alpha Kappa Delta recognizes and promotes excellence in the scholarship of sociology, the study of social problems, and activities that contribute to improving the human condition. Today, AKD includes more than 700 chapters worldwide, with Carroll College’s Delta chapter serving as part of that global network of student scholars.

Students become eligible for membership through strong academic performance, completion of sociology coursework, and demonstrated character. Induction into AKD reflects both scholastic achievement and a commitment to understanding society in ways that foster positive change.

The ceremony recognized these six students for their hard work, dedication, and academic success while celebrating the important role sociology plays in helping communities better understand and respond to social challenges.

Carroll College congratulates the newest members of Alpha Kappa Delta and celebrates their accomplishments.
