Service Saturday

Service to the community is central to Carroll College’s mission, and through the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice, students have meaningful opportunities to give back. At the final Service Saturday of the year on April 12, around 35 students volunteered at five local organizations—Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity Restore, Montana Supporting Military, Helena Food Share, and Good Samaritans—engaging in activities from landscaping and donation sorting to assembling care packages for deployed soldiers.

“It was wonderful being able to serve the Helena community at the Habitat for Humanity Restore site. The employees were so excited to have us and we made great connections with them, as well as with each other. Service Saturday volunteer opportunities truly do represent the importance of clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, and giving shelter to the homeless, just as Jesus did and commands us to do.”

The Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice would like to say a special thanks to all of our student volunteers. Their hard work is much appreciated in our community!
