Presidential Podcast

Pope John Paul II once said that “Carroll College is meant to be a beacon to the Church in the Northwest.” Inspired by his words, I am excited to announce the launch of a new podcast, The Beacon. As host, I’ll bring you engaging conversations twice a month through the end of June, featuring guests from our campus community—professors and students, as well as thought leaders from Montana and beyond.

I invite you to join us for our inaugural episode found here, featuring two engaging interviews: the first with student podcaster Alli Olson and Dr. Hansen and the second with senior Hunter Peck, the recent recipient of the Montana Athletes in Service Award.

The Beacon is a special presidential series within Carroll’s Big Sky, Small World podcast, an impressive platform entirely run by our students. Recently celebrating its 100th episode, this student-led initiative is thriving, thanks to the resources of our dedicated podcast studio in the newly renovated Simperman Learning Commons and the guidance of Dr. Alan Hansen, Professor of Communication Studies, who offers a course on podcasting. These opportunities empower our students to master the art of storytelling through podcasts, showcasing their creativity and voice. I’m especially pleased to be learning this skill alongside our talented students, sharing in their passion and enthusiasm.

Follow Big Sky, Small World wherever you get your podcasts, and you will be notified of the next episode of The Beacon!
