At Carroll, we are committed to creating pathways that challenge students to grow and achieve at the highest levels. The new St. Catherine Scholars Program reflects that commitment, offering mentorship and preparation for those ready to test their talents against the nation’s most competitive opportunities.
Designed for students of uncommon promise, whether you’re already aiming for top fellowships or just beginning to uncover your strengths, the program provides the structure, support, and coaching to help students pursue prestigious awards such as the Rhodes, Fulbright, Truman, Goldwater, and Gates Cambridge Scholarships.
Scholars benefit from:
- Dedicated mentorship from faculty experienced in national scholarship advising
- Hands-on feedback on essays, personal statements, and interviews
- Structured preparation from exploration through final submission
- A peer cohort for collaboration, accountability, and encouragement
- Long-term advising for graduate school, research, and service opportunities
The program is intentionally designed to work alongside demanding commitments such as athletics, music, forensics, research, or student leadership. With a commitment of just 4–6 hours per month and a 3.7 GPA requirement, it emphasizes sustainable, long-term growth.
“Carroll students have always excelled through academic distinction, leadership, and service,” said Dr. Stephen Forrest, adjunct professor of political science and program director. “The St. Catherine Scholars Program builds on that tradition by providing students with the tools, guidance, and support to realize their highest aspirations.”
Students interested in learning more are encouraged to attend the upcoming Info Session: Tuesday, September 16, 7:00 p.m., Trinity Lounge
