Serving the community is central to Carroll College’s mission, and the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice helps students put that mission into action. During Service Saturday on November 22, nearly 70 students and faculty volunteered at seven local organizations, including Helena Food Share, Good Samaritans Thrift Store, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Family Promise, Beehive and Helena Pointe Rehabilitation Homes, and the Fair Trade Market. Another group prepared and served a meal at God’s Love.
The day began with prayer and breakfast before volunteers headed to their sites for two and a half hours of service, followed by pizza and helping set up the Giving Tree.
The Hunthausen Center extends heartfelt thanks to all student volunteers for their commitment to serving the Helena community.
