Chemistry students Nate Burman and Lauran Palys earned an Award for Research in Engineering and Science (ARES) from the Montana Space Grant Consortium. The ARES awards provides up to $900 per semester to fund their research activities. Nate is working with Prof. Rowley developing new compounds to be used in fuel forming solar panels and Laruen is working with Prof. Pharr developing new compounds to be used in blue-light emitting diodes (LED). Undergraduate students apply for the ARES award in a competitive statewide process in which they submit a written proposal of their research plans.
