Interim Co-President Bishop Austin Vetter recently returned to campus following a special trip to Rome, where he had the privilege of meeting Pope Leo XIV during the Wednesday Audience on April 8.
Bishop Vetter traveled to Rome in his role as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Pontifical North American College and attended the college’s annual Rector’s Dinner fundraising event. The Pontifical North American College serves as the primary seminary in Rome for men from the United States preparing for priesthood.
During the visit, Bishop Vetter also spent time with seminarians from the Diocese of Helena who are studying there in preparation for service as future priests. His trip reflects the strong ties between Carroll College, the Diocese of Helena, and the global Catholic Church, as well as the meaningful leadership Bishop Vetter brings to Carroll and the wider faith community.
