Carroll Anthrozoology’s Speed Date a Program Animal invites the community to meet and interact with Carroll’s program animals in a fun, relaxed setting on Friday, February 14, from 1–2:30 pm at the Perkins Call Canine Center on the Carroll College campus.
Each year, Carroll College’s Anthrozoology Program pairs students with animals selected from the humane society based on temperament, motivation, and learning potential. Throughout the academic year, student handlers work closely with these animals, training them in service tasks, search and rescue techniques, and companion animal skills. By spring, the animals are well trained, socialized, and ready to join new homes.
Guests will have the chance to meet Apollo, Max, Loki, Princess, Ragnar, Oreo, Ziggy, and Haze (seven dogs and one cat!) during five-minute “speed dates” held throughout the building. Attendees can enjoy refreshments, interact with the animals, and talk with student handlers and fosters to learn more about each animal’s personality and training. Adoption applications will be available on site for anyone interested.
