Hand Blessing Ceremony

On Friday, September 26th at 4:00 p.m., the Carroll College Nursing Program will host its annual Nursing Hand Blessing Ceremony in the All Saints Chapel on the Carroll College campus. Carroll's first Nursing Hand Blessing ceremony was held in 2012, and this year's ceremony continues the tradition of giving nursing students a specially designed pin, provided by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, that serves as a visual reminder of their commitment to providing high-quality care with humanism at the core of their practice. This interfaith ceremony recognizes the dedication of nurses to bring comfort, kindness, respect, and spiritual support to all they serve.

The Hand Blessing Ceremony was really meaningful to me. I feel it highlighted the responsibility and privilege we carry as nurses to use our hands for healing and connection with our patients. It was a reminder that nursing is not just about clinical skills, but also about compassion and the presence we bring into every interaction. I think it sets a powerful tone on the kind of care we’re called to provide.” - Steven Santos, ACNU ‘2024

There will be a reception with light refreshments directly following the ceremony in the lobby of All Saints Chapel.
