Join us for the 2026 Carroll College Undergraduate Literary Festival. The Carroll College Literature Festival is a writing competition for both Carroll and local students in the Helena community. On the day of the Literary Festival, winners will be announced, awarded prizes, and have an opportunity to share their work.

Enjoy an evening of readings, conversation, and refreshments. Loren’s books will be available for purchase and signing after the event.
Call for Submissions
The Senior English Capstone Seminar students and Colors Literary Magazine staff are accepting submissions for the 2026 Carroll College Undergraduate Literary Festival. All works are welcome regardless of the field of study. If you have any questions regarding your topic, feel free to contact us via email at litfest@carroll.edu!
Prizes
$500 in prizes will be awarded to select winners. The Capstone Seminar students will judge the submissions. If you are a high school student, please clarify that in your submission. (Capstone students are ineligible for prizes.)
Submission Guidelines
- Prose (fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, or academic): 2000 words minimum
- Poetry: 200 lines minimum (one long poem or several shorter ones)
- Please inquire about one-act play, spoken word, or graphic novel entries.
- Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.docx).
Winners must be able to present their works, accept their prizes at the Carroll College Literary Festival on the evening of November 5, 2026, and agree to be published in Colors Literary Magazine. Presentation length: 12-15 minutes.
Submission Deadline: Friday, October 31, by 11:59 p.m.
