The Carroll College Department of Chemistry invites the community to Elemental Extravaganza, a free, family-friendly chemistry demonstration show designed to spark curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for science. Created through the time, creativity, and resources volunteered by Carroll faculty and students, the show brings chemistry to life beyond the classroom in a colorful, interactive experience for all ages.

Join chemistry professors Dr. Becky Coates and Dr. Caroline Pharr for two acts, thirteen live demonstrations, and what organizers promise is “zero chance of boredom.” Audience members will experience fiery reactions, glowing experiments, disappearing liquids, color-changing flames, explosive surprises, and other mind-bending demonstrations that reveal chemistry in unexpected ways.

Shows will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) and Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (doors open at 1:30 p.m.) in the Wiegand Amphitheatre, Simperman Hall 101/202, at 1250 Hunthausen Way on the Carroll College campus in Helena. Admission is free, but reservations are required at elementalextravaganza.com. Parking is available in student lots off Hunthausen Way near Lyndale Avenue.
