Our Lady of the Rockies Hike

Register

The Totus Tuus Outdoor Retreats (TTOR) is a relational wilderness retreat experience of Carroll College’s Catholic Studies Program and Campus Ministry, centered on renewing the human soul, mind, body and identity in Christ through transformative wilderness experiences. The ministry is a collaborative outgrowth of the Catholic Studies Program, Campus Ministry, and CAMP.

In hiking to Our Lady of the Rockies on the Continental Divide on this Totus Tuus trip, we will meditate on Marian spirituality themes of "Fiat" and "Magnificat," and how the Blessed Mother is a model for giving our hearts completely to the Lord and for renewing our own identities and purposes in her son.

Together, we’ll hike the east ridge trail in fellowship and fun (approx. 2,300 ft. vertical gain and 8 miles round trip), pray the Stations of the Cross on the ascent, listen to two short talks with Dr. Esparza, and have some time for silent prayer and small group discussion on the summit.

The trip will be led by Dr. Joseph Esparza, and co-led by campus minister Chris Yakawich.

Program managers will coordinate sack lunches for students.
