The Art and Science of Women's Leadership

Gender Studies is pleased to host a talk by Dr. Christine Pharr on "The Art and Science of Women's Leadership."

Dr. Pharr became the president of Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI in 2017 and retired in 2022 after 26 years in higher education. Christine possesses a passion for women's leadership, particularly in the sciences, and has worked in women’s universities for the last 14 years of her career. She led Mount Mary University to recognition by U.S. News and World Report as having the highest social mobility in the Midwest and holding top ranks in economic and ethnic diversity as well as becoming a Hispanic-Serving institution. At Mount Mary she led numerous renovation projects on campus including the recent creation of a new $45 M intergenerational living facility, Trinity Woods, for the School Sisters of Notre Dame, local seniors and single mothers and their children, who are students at Mount Mary.

This talk is free and open to the public.
