Briefly describe a notable memory from your days at Carroll:
Although I may not have fully realized it when I was at Carroll, in retrospect one of the greatest things about Carroll's Math and Engineering Department were the small class sizes, particularly in the Junior and Senior level courses. The extremely low student-to-faculty ratio at Carroll truly allows for more individualized attention, more direct interaction with professors and classmates, and the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships with your professors, which I feel very fortunate to have done.
A piece of advice for prospective Carroll engineering students:
Work hard at your studies, learn from your mistakes, do your best to find summer internships, and most importantly have a lot of fun along the way!
First job after college & current role:
Upon completing my Master's Degree at Notre Dame in 1994, I immediately accepted a position as an Engineering Designer at RPA in Helena, MT, the same company I still work for. As of April 2026 I've been with RPA for 32 years, and counting.
Briefly describe one of your more interesting projects or assignments to date:
Having worked on hundreds of varying types of projects throughout my career, one of my absolute most rewarding was being part of the design team for the recent improvements to Nelson Stadium on Carroll's campus, which included the turf field and stadium lighting.
