Senior Nursing students from Associate Professor Deanna Thompson's Community and Public Health class volunteered their time and skills during the November 2024 Special Olympics State Basketball Games!
From hearing screenings to teaching stress-reduction techniques, our students helped athletes at various stations focused on healthy feet, movement, stretching, and breathing. Activities included: Measuring and assessing athletes’ feet Measuring grip strength Teaching breathing techniques with pinwheels Guiding athletes in writing and drawing affirmations
This is the second year this class has proudly supported these incredible athletes. Thank you to our Carroll nursing students for making a difference in our community!
