#1 – NurseJournal.org Global Health Scholarship

This merit-based Global Health Scholarship is awarded to a student to pay for the costs of their online or campus based education. It may be awarded to anyone who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level, global health related program in nursing, medicine, or public health.

#2 – A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

This is a scholarship that provides $1,000 for undergraduate students and $2,000 for graduate students. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and they must be of Native American ethnicity. They also have to be a member of AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society).

#3 – AfterCollege/AACN $10,000 Scholarship Fund

This is a $10,000 scholarship, which is one of the highest in the country. Applicants can be of any gender or ethnicity and application is therefore open to anybody. Students do already have to be enrolled in an institution that is a member of the AACN. Furthermore, special consideration is given to those who are studying towards a MSN degree or Ph.D. in nursing, or who are taking part in an accelerated program with the goal of furthering their educational career over time.

#4 – ANNA – Alcavis International, Inc., Career Mobility Scholarship

This scholarship is available to those who are members of ANNA (American Nephrology Nurses Association). Students must study towards a BSN or MSN in nephrology nursing in particular. This is a direction that is not chosen often, which means those who do have a particular interest in that field of nursing stand a good chance of receiving the scholarship.

#5 – Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Foundation Master’s Degree Scholarship

This particular scholarship is one of the oldest in the country, having been established in 1991. Applicants must already hold a BSN in order to be considered. Furthermore, they must be a member of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) and they must be studying towards a degree in periOperative nursing in particular.

#6 – Best Nursing Degree “Back to School” Pre-Professional Nursing Scholarship

Applicants for this particular scholarship must already hold a BSN. The study trajectory has to be direct entry MSN or accelerated BSN. Furthermore, the program they are participating in must be accredited by the CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or the NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission).

#7 – Dr. Ildaura Murillo-Rohde Scholarship Award

This scholarship can be any amount up to a maximum of $1,000. Students must have at GPA of at least 3.0. Furthermore, they have to be of Hispanic descent, be enrolled in a nursing program that will allow them to achieve licensure and be a member of the NAHN (National Association of Hispanic Nurses). Applicants are chosen based on their financial need and the potential they show for leadership.

#8 – Elaine Gelman Scholarship

This scholarship can be up to the value of $1,000. It can be awarded to those who have a GPA of at least 3.0. Furthermore, students have to be enrolled in a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program, to commemorate Elaine Gelman, who was an NP herself. Although the scholarship can be awarded to anyone on an NP program that will complete within two years, special consideration is given to those students who are focusing on pediatric care and those who want to work, or have already worked, in health advocacy and/or policy.

#9 – Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association General Scholarships

This scholarship offers between $1,000 and $2,500. No eligibility is given to graduating high school seniors. Students must be taking part in a program and school that is fully accredited.

#10 – Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Promise of Nursing Scholarships

This is a $1,000 to $2,500 scholarship. Students must take part in a program that is fully accredited, and it must be in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Washington or Texas. The zip code of the school will determine eligibility for this particular award.
