Sodexo Gives $2.5 Million to Carroll College

HELENA, MT – Carroll College is pleased to announce that Sodexo, a long-standing partner with the college, has provided $2.5 million for the Hunthausen Activity Center.

"Carroll College and Sodexo have been partners for 54 years,” said Carroll College President Dr. Tom Evans. “The $2.5 million contribution to the Hunthausen Activity Center is evidence of our strong relationship and our mutual desire to bring the best in service and a quality atmosphere to the deserving students, faculty and staff of Carroll College.”

Sodexo’s gift was announced at the ceremonial groundbreaking for the activity center on September 13, 2014. Numerous dignitaries were in attendance including the
namesake for the new activity center, Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen. Including the Archbishop, there were five former Carroll presidents in attendance as well as Board of Trustee members and other individuals integral to the project, including Rick Waldt, District Manager for Sodexo.

“It is my privilege and honor to be a partner with Carroll,” said Waldt. “In my 41 years in higher education service, I have never felt so integrally aligned with my clients as I do at Carroll. To be able to bring such significant support to Carroll and see it directly benefit the students is truly rewarding. They are the reason we are here, and the chief source of fulfillment for me personally in my role with Sodexo and Carroll.”

Dining Services at Carroll College are contracted through Sodexo Campus Services. They provide campus dining, catering services and concessions across the campus. Sodexo’s General Manager for Carroll College, Linda Bahr, has been instrumental in helping Sodexo improve the lives and wellbeing of Carroll’s students. “For me, it is all about the student,” said Bahr. “Everything that I have done here is to strengthen the relationship between the Carroll student and Sodexo. I have always wanted them to feel that we are a partner – to nourish, to provide fun events, to educate and to advocate for them.”

Sodexo has made additional investments in Carroll’s dining infrastructure in the past including remodeling the Carroll dining hall in the summer 2012 as well as renovating Jazzman’s Café & Bakery and Wholly Habaneros, all located in the Carroll Campus Center.

“We are most grateful for Sodexo’s ongoing support and commitment to providing excellent service to our community," said Dr. Tom Evans.
