Carroll has reprised our weekly photo contest! The contest invites students, faculty and staff to submit photos of Carroll which capture the essence of the college and our people. A panel of judges select weekly winners and during the final week of the semester, all winning photos will be entered for selection of the People's Choice award - voted on by the Carroll community. Enjoy the photos from our first two weekly winners. Congratulations to first-year Sam Johnson from Sandpoint, Idaho, who captured a stunning double rainbow over campus and first-year Josie D’Agostino from Bozeman, Mont., who gave us a unique view of our beautiful campus on a frosty fall morning.

Accomplishments & Accolades

For the sixth year in a row, Carroll College has been designated as a 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media. This recognition is in addition to being ranked as the number one Regional College in the West for Veterans by U.S. News & World Report earlier this fall.
“Carroll College is proud to be recognized as a Military Friendly School. We believe that this recognition is a testament of our ongoing commitment to improve access and utilization of support services by service members, veterans and their families both on and off campus,” said Carroll College Veteran Service Coordinator Brandy Keely. The Talking Saints won more than 30 awards, more than half by first-year students, to win the second place sweepstakes award at the Northwest College Trapper Rendezvous in Powell, Wyoming, on November 4-5.
“Our 28-person team is young this year with no seniors and 12 new members,” said coach Brent Northup. “So to see the young members shine is wonderful. They’ve worked hard – and served notice to our upper class that they best keep an eye on their rearview mirrors. That’s healthy.” Read more.

On November 4-5, Carroll students from chemistry, biology, and biochemistry-molecular biology presented their research at the Murdock College Undergraduate Research Conference in Spokane, Wash.
The undergraduate-only conference is designed to highlight, support, and enhance the quality of research programs at private liberal arts colleges in the northwest.  All seven of the Carroll students attending the conference presented their research during the conference-wide poster session. Additionally, senior Lauren Rhoda was invited to deliver a 20-minute oral presentation on her research, which she did in conjunction with Professor Rowley over the summer, developing solar panels that will store solar energy in the form of a solar fuel.
“The Murdock Research Conference gave me a wonderful opportunity to grow as a scientist. Presenting our research to others was intimidating at first, but it ultimately gave me great confidence in my ability to do real and relevant science, as well as my ability to communicate it effectively,” said Rhoda.
