Saints in the News
This marks the ninth summer that Dr. Lauri Travis, assistant professor of anthropology and environmental science, has led a team of students into the Big Belt Mountains as part of the Carroll College archaeological field school. The students spend 10 days excavating a site and learning the history of the area.
“It’s very different to unearth something and hold in your hands something that is thousands of years old and nobody has touched it for thousands of years,” said Dr. Travis. “It really makes an impression on the student.”
KTVH television joined them for an afternoon this June. View the newscast here: Carroll archaeology students partner with Forest Service for ancient site dig.
