After a 40+ year career in higher education, Fr. Thomas R. Flynn ’58, PhD, professor of philosophy at Emory University, is planning to retire at the end of this spring semester. Fr. Flynn is a former Carroll trustee (2009-2017) and current Board Fellow. In addition to being a professor of history at Carroll early in his career, Fr. Flynn also received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Carroll in 2006. He is also a very generous benefactor of the college. Jed Thomas ’07, a resource and special education teacher at Burley High School in Idaho, is making a difference in the lives of his students. Twice a week before classes start for the day, he delivers speeches on relevant and impactful issues facing teens to the students gathered in the high school foyer. Former Carroll quarterback Tyler Emmert ’06 will be inducted by the Montana High School Association into the Montana Athletes Hall of Fame on Monday. In addition to an outstanding high school career, Emmert led the Saints to four-straight national titles, was a NAIA first team All-American three times and was twice named the NAIA Player of the Year.
