December 20, 2017 Insider: Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS
2017 Christmas Greetings from Carroll College
We wish you and your families a very blessed, peaceful and joyful Christmas and holiday season. Please take a few moments to enjoy our annual Carroll Christmas video – a reminder of the love we share with one another and the difference it makes to all those we encounter. Happy holidays from all of us at Carroll College.
EDUCATING OUR VETERANS
At Carroll, we are proud to welcome and support our service members and veterans as they pursue their higher education. We recognize and value the contributions they bring to our campus community. Their world experience, combined with their specialty skills and leadership qualities, bring a different perspective to the classroom. We also appreciate their ability to mentor students who are considering joining the military or experiencing real world challenges.

GREEN SCENE
Carroll’s new Hunthausen Activity Center is the campus’ first green certified building. The HAC received Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by meeting the necessary standards set forth by U.S. Green Building Council.
Incorporating environmentally friendly construction methods, sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems into the overall building plans supported the HAC’s LEED certification. Congratulations to Dowling Studio Architects, Morrison-Maierle Engineering and Dick Anderson Construction for their roles in creating this distinction for Carroll College.
Saints Athletic News
Two Carroll student-athletes were selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America College Division Academic All-America Teams.
Carroll College offensive guard Todd Pays, a senior from Sandpoint, Idaho, was named Academic All-America First Team. He is a civil engineering major. "Civil Engineering is not an easy major and it shows that an athlete can excel on the field, excel in the classroom and be a great human being as well," head coach Mike Van Diest said. The award is the first for a Carroll football player.
Isaac Bostrom, a senior forward on the Saints soccer team from Helena, Montana, was named to the Academic All-America Second Team. This is the second consecutive honor for Bostrom who majors in English Writing.
