Carroll and Helena College Announce Co-Admission Agreement

HELENA – Beginning this fall, Carroll College and Helena College University of Montana are entering into a co-admission agreement. Under the agreement, students who are admitted to Helena College will be guaranteed admission and a competitive financial aid package when they transition to Carroll College upon the successful completion of their degree from Helena College University of Montana.

Carroll College and Helena College University of Montana have long been partners in serving Helena and the surrounding region and have recently expanded their partnerships with both degree pathways and an agreement where Helena College University of Montana students can live on Carroll College’s campus while attending Helena College University of Montana. The Carroll College and Helena College University of Montana co-admission agreement furthers this partnership by creating a transparent and reliable process that will give students and their families the information needed as they make decisions about higher education pathways in Helena.

“At Carroll, we are committed to improving access to higher education in the Helena area,” said Carroll College President Dr. John Cech. “Transfer students do very well at Carroll College and we are pleased to partner with Helena College in providing a seamless transition to a four-year degree for their students. This type of public-private partnership will serve the Helena community exceptionally well,” said Cech.

Helena College University of Montana Interim Dean and CEO Dr. Sandra Bauman shared, "We are so excited to partner with Carroll College and give our students and the community additional opportunities to continue pursuing a four-year degree without leaving home."

As of fall 2020, any student at Helena College working toward an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree is eligible for co-admission with Carroll College. Students can indicate their desire to enter the program at any time prior to completing 30 credits. Students in the program will have the opportunity to meet with Carroll College academic advisors throughout their time at Helena College to ensure a smooth transition, and upon graduation from Helena College will receive no less than $18,000 in gift-based aid.
