Carroll Designated a CRS Global Campus

CRS Global Campus MOUCarroll College has been officially designated a Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Global Campus. We are just the ninth campus in the nation with this designation and the first one west of the Mississippi. Dr. Kim Lamberty, Director of University and Mission Engagement for Catholic Relief Services and President Tom Evans signed the MOU established the partnership this week.

A CRS Global Campus promotes global solidarity through an institutional partnership with CRS that engages the three core constituencies of a college or university—institutional, faculty, and students—with the support of campus staff. CRS Global Campuses participate in the CRS Student Ambassador and the Faculty Learning Commons programs, and establish an interdisciplinary CRS advisory group. The advisory group sustains the partnership and supports broad engagement on campus, including during major global emergencies.

While she was here, Dr. Lamberty met with the office of Academic Affairs, the director of the Artaza Center, a group of faculty, Dr. Tom Evans, and students from the Carroll Outreach Team.  She also delivered a lecture on CRS’ ongoing relief and development efforts in Haiti. See photos from her visit.

The Hunthausen Center wishes to thank Dr. Lamberty for her visit establishing Carroll College as a CRS Global Campus, as well as Dr. Tom Evans for his support of the Hunthausen Center’s efforts to secure this designation for Carroll College. Finally, special recognition belongs to Hunthausen Center student worker and CRS Campus Ambassador, Melanie Vert, for her tremendous work in helping to accomplish this partnership with CRS.
