HELENA – Carroll College’s Theatre Department is hosting the first-ever TEDxCarrollCollege conference on March 14. A selection committee chose nine speakers to present at this inaugural event. Speakers include students, faculty, and local professionals. The mission of TEDxCarrollCollege is to promote local ideas, and advances in research and academia to the Helena and Carroll community.

Marie Bourgeois, Civil Engineer and Biomimicry Professional, Educator
Erik Escobar, Comedian and Educator
This event will take place March 14 in the FLEX Theatre, located on the lower level of Carroll College’s Campus Center. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.tedxcarrollcollege.com. Tickets are $30 for general admission. Only 100 tickets will be sold. Registration begins at 6:30 pm, and the first session of speakers begins at 7:00 pm. Parking is free in the Campus Center lot off of Lyndale. The theatre is fully ADA accessible through the east entrance of the Campus Center.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
