About
After graduating from Carroll with a double major in public relations and communications, with concentrations in business and journalism, I started my career at Jesuit High School, where I worked as part of their development team managing fundraising events. The education I received at Carroll helped me land the job at Jesuit, which in turn started my passion for event planning. At Jesuit I was also able to talk to students about my time at Carroll, as well as participate in student retreats that were similar to those I experienced at Carroll.
From there I went on to planning and executing tradeshows and sales meetings for LaCrosse Footwear. Most recently spent 10 years at Standard Insurance overseeing their relationship building events and product trainings. With 16 years of event management experience under my belt, I decided to start my own event planning company, Outsourced Event Planning. My company specializes in corporate and nonprofit events, and some of my current clients include the Cancer Resource Fund and Too Big Ventures, Inc.
In addition to my work experience, I have also earned my Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. My time at Carroll provided me with the study skills needed for working full time, while preparing to sit for a major exam.
Outside of work, I volunteer at my church, as well as on the auction committee and as class mom for my daughter’s school. Carroll taught me the importance of community involvement, giving back, and the value of a good education. I currently live in the Portland area with my husband and daughters, Olivia (4), Brooklyn (1), and Addison (1).
