About

Degree: BS in Civil Engineering & Minor in Physics

Graduation Year: 2020

Briefly describe a notable memory from your days at Carroll: My favorite Carroll memories come from the CAMP program outings that let me explore the greater Helena outdoors.  Additionally, the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) student chapter imparted a sense of ownership over the career I was creating in engineering.

A piece of advice for prospective Carroll engineering students: It's never too soon to start building your network in the engineering world, and Carroll has plenty of opportunities to do that.

Current Work: Power Engineers Inc. in Hailey, ID

Position: Transmission Line Design Engineer

Brief description of responsibilities: My day-to-day varies greatly in transmission line design. Some of my more common tasks include foundation and structure design, line route selection, material selection, and ensuring high-voltage lines have adequate clearance from their surroundings.

Briefly describe one of your more interesting projects or assignments to date: One of the aspects of my work that keeps it interesting is the diverse geography in which our projects are located. As a result of our clientele being utility companies nationwide, designs can span across deserts, mountains, cities, and even across waterways to coastal islands in a range of climates that each present their challenges.
