About

Kal Poole (He, Him)  is an accomplished Equity actor and educator. As a professional actor and director for over 20 years, he brings extensive experience to his role as a Guest Teaching Artist at Carroll College's Department of Theatre.

With a BFA in Acting from the University of Idaho and an MFA in Acting and the Creation of New Work from The Ohio State University, Kal's education has been the foundation of his successful career. As an adjunct faculty member at Ohio State University, OSU Marion, and Clark State Community College, he spent five years mentoring young theater artists.

Kal is incredibly proud to have served as the Managing Director of Grandstreet Theatre from 2012-22 and the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Whistling in the Dark Theatre Co. in Columbus, Ohio, from 2007-12. Additionally, he has performed Off-Broadway and in regional theaters across the country, including appearances at 59E59, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Montana Shakespeare Company, Idaho Repertory Theatre, Rubicon Theatre, and CATCO.

Returning to Carroll College, where he was once a theatre student himself, Kal is delighted to help guide the next generation of theater practitioners, and support the next generation of Helena artists.
