About
Smile! That’s what 2010 Carroll graduate Heather Moore is here to help you do. Heather has been a dentist for eleven years and owns her own practice in Great Falls, Montana. “Making people smile again and having the confidence to talk to people and to show their teeth is the most rewarding part of my job,” Heather reflects. “So many people are afraid of the dentist, and I love changing their mindset to know that we care and are here to help.”
Heather majored in biology at Carroll before attending dental school at Creighton University, where she graduated in 2014. Now that she owns her own practice, Heather spends her days performing dental exams, treatments, and a wide variety of dental procedures. As many as thirty patients come through Heather’s practice every day, and Heather says that she works hard so that she can provide relief from pain to each of her patients.
Heather’s ultimate pride and joy are her husband, whom she met at Carroll, and her children. Finding the balance between business and family is always a challenge. “I am very proud of the practice I have built from scratch and the success that I have created, but I am most proud of the kids I am raising; I love being a mom above all else,” Heather says.
Carroll played an important role in Heather’s journey by providing her with a challenging academic environment and professors who held her accountable, which helped Heather learn to push herself to success. “Carroll did not just teach me to study and work hard; it made me strive to be the best,” Heather remembers. But Heather’s favorite part about Carroll was the small, supportive community that felt like family. “I built lifelong relationships at Carroll that have forever formed who I am today,” Heather says.
A few of Heather’s fondest memories at Carroll include living in the St. Charles dorms among her friends and being able to wake up on a Saturday morning and walk to the football field to watch the Saints play. Heather advises current Carroll students to treasure these kinds of moments as an undergraduate. “Study hard but also play hard and enjoy the experience with your friends and peers. Time goes by so fast, and you will look back and have some of the best memories at Carroll,” Heather says.
