About
Supporting people through grief requires compassion, presence, and deep care for others. For Grant Fairbrother ’24, the Master of Social Work Program at Carroll College prepared him to do that work every day.
Now serving as a hospice volunteer and bereavement coordinator at St. Peter’s Health, Grant provides grief counseling for individuals and groups, supports hospice volunteers, and offers community education and bereavement care.
“I use my MSW education daily, especially the values and client-centered interventions so necessary for grief support.”
Grant also says the relationships he formed at Carroll continue to shape his work today.
“I feel connected to my cohort and faculty… I feel lucky to have attended such an interpersonally minded program.”
