About
Erin Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and is passionate about educating and preparing the next generation of social workers. She earned her MSW from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, with a focus on interpersonal practice with children, youth, and families, as well as a certificate in School Social Work. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work at Simmons University.
Erin’s research focuses on interparental conflict and co-parenting during divorce and separation, as well as social work education. She maintains an active clinical practice, providing mental health services and facilitating co-parenting groups. Her practice experience spans social work in the school setting, child welfare, crisis assessment and intervention, private practice, and services supporting survivors of intimate partner violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Erin is also involved in the Divorce Education Assessment Collaborative, which works to "strengthen divorce education through collaborative research, rigorous assessment, and certification of curricula."
Outside of her professional work, Erin thoroughly enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, and extended family; staying active; practicing yoga; and embracing the everyday moments that bring connection, joy, and meaning to life.
