About

Class of 2024

Briefly describe a notable memory from your days at Carroll:
I have great memories from Carroll travel opportunities - through ASCE (the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter) and CAMP (Carroll Adventure and Mountaineering Program outdoors club). We brought groups of students to competitions across the Pacific Northwest for ASCE, and would take trips to landmarks like national parks and other more hidden local gems for CAMP.

A piece of advice for prospective Carroll engineering students:
If you're given an opportunity, say yes if at all possible. Most of my best adventures & memories from college came from saying yes to things I initially tried to find excuses to get out of, thought I was "too busy" for, or assumed I wouldn’t enjoy.

Current Work:
I am currently a Civil Engineer at RESPEC in Helena, Montana (my first job after graduation).  I spend most of the summer/fall in the field collecting data for projects, then most of the winter processing/using the data and working on designs for the projects.

Briefly describe one of your more interesting projects or assignments to date:
Recently I have been spending a lot of time on an Abandoned Mine Lands project for the Montana Dept. of Environmental Quality. To put it briefly, we wander around the mountain ranges of Montana looking for 1800's era mines, then collect data such as exact location, chemical makeup of the soil, general site conditions and safety hazards if present, and aerial imagery of the site using an RC drone.
