About
What Connor McGree, a 2018 Carroll graduate, appreciates most about his time at Carroll was the tight-knit community that he found there. For Connor, being a Carroll alum means experiencing “a strong feeling of camaraderie with my classmates and teammates.” He also credits Carroll’s demanding academics for preparing him for success, saying they “set you up to succeed by challenging you and making you a better person.”
After graduating from Carroll with a major in Civil Engineering, Connor entered his family business, McGree Trucking. As a project manager for his business, Connor performs a wide variety of tasks, all of which he enjoys. Connor currently lives in Helena with his wife, Madison, “When I’m not at work, I enjoy being outside or spending time with Madison.”
Looking back on his time at Carroll, Connor remembers the experience as “challenging, fun, and empowering.” In particular, Connor recalls the positive impact that two mentors, Coach Van Diest and Associate Professor of Engineering Gary Fischer, had on him while he was a student. “Both cared about me as an individual and were willing to go above and beyond to help me or my classmates and teammates,” Connor recalls.
The memories that remain as Connor’s favorites at Carroll are those he shared with friends, as well as “the close-knit community feeling that Carroll offers.” Connor encourages current Carroll students to appreciate these moments while they can. “Enjoy the time and relationships at Carroll. It goes by quickly, and soon enough you’ll miss those conversations in the hall or cafeteria,” Connor concludes.
