About
Dr. Chris Ridgway is excited to be a part of the Carroll College Master of Social Work program as an Assistant Professor. He brings nearly 20 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and researcher. Dr. Ridgway holds a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Michigan State University, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and earned a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
As a clinician and supervisor, he has focused on delivering effective, evidence-based care to clients. Much of his clinical practice has been with couples, but he also has extensive training and experience treating post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, parenting problems, and internalized shame.
As a scholar and instructor, Dr. Ridgway is passionate about training and supervision for clinical effectiveness, particularly with diverse, high-need populations. He spends almost all of his free time with his family, hiking, exploring, and rolling on a jiu-jitsu mat with his kids.
