About

Brett has spent the last 18 years working in international policy and human rights, including leading teams operating in conflict and post-conflict settings; coordinating and publishing reports on the issues of public international law, peace negotiations, democracy, and governance; and advising on post-conflict constitutional reform processes. Her area of focus is how human rights and associated reform processes intersect with transitional justice objectives and initiatives.

As an independent consultant and Senior Peace Fellow with Public International Law & Policy Group in Washington, DC, Brett currently works as a legal and policy advisor, consulting with clients on the aforementioned issues as well as on crisis response, international development, and nonprofit management.

Brett holds a JD from Washington College of Law at American University, and she received her MA in International Politics from the School of International Service at American University.
