Join us for the 2025 Carroll College Undergraduate Literary Festival featuring a special tribute to Professor Loren Graham, creator of this beloved annual event. Though in phased retirement, Loren will return to participate in this year’s celebration alongside English Senior Capstone student Josiah Romo and two winners of the 4th Annual Carroll College Literary Contest.

Enjoy an evening of readings, conversation, and refreshments. Loren’s books will be available for purchase and signing after the event.

Call for Submissions

The Senior English Capstone Seminar invites submissions for the 2025 Carroll College Undergraduate Literary Festival. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit creative or academic work.

  • Prizes of up to $350 from Montana Book Co. will be awarded.
  • Submission deadline: Friday, October 31, by 5:00 p.m.
  • Email submissions to: litfest@carroll.edu

Submission Guidelines

  • Prose (fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, or academic): 2000 words minimum
  • Poetry: 200 lines minimum (one long poem or several shorter ones)
  • Please inquire about one-act play, spoken word, or graphic novel entries.
  • Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.docx).

Winners must be available to present their work at the festival on November 6 (12–15 minute presentation).
