he Faculty Development Committee solicits your nominations for the Outstanding Teaching Award. While Carroll takes pride in all of our faculty being committed and excellent teachers, this award is given to a teacher who is recognized as exemplary. The Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education will serve as the guidelines for this award.
The principles are:
- Good Practice Encourages Student-Faculty Contact
- Good Practice Encourages Cooperation Among Students
- Good Practice Encourages Active Learning
- Good Practice Gives Prompt Feedback
- Good Practice Emphasizes Time on Task
- Good Practice Communicates High Expectations
- Good Practice Respects Diverse Talents and Ways of Learning
Each nomination should include statements about the nominee that supports as many of the criteria as are relevant. Specific examples as opposed to general statements are preferred. All nominations received by the end of the day Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, will be considered.
